01 About Hookoom
Hookoom Private Limited ("Hookoom", "we", "our", "us") is incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013, with its registered office at A1508, Tower-2, NX One, Gaur Chowk, Greater Noida West, Uttar Pradesh – 201306, India.
We operate www.hookoom.com and associated mobile applications (the "Platform") — a hotel discovery and booking platform where travellers discover hotels through verified guest content and earn a share of booking commissions when their reviews influence future bookings.
02 Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Platform, you confirm that you:
- Are at least 18 years of age
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
- Have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms")
If you are using the Platform on behalf of a business or organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that entity to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Platform.
03 User Accounts
3.1 Registration
To access booking and review features, you must create an account by providing accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the accuracy of your account information.
3.2 Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately at contact@hookoom.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
3.3 Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or misuse the Platform. You may delete your account at any time by writing to contact@hookoom.com.
04 Hotel Bookings
4.1 Booking Process
When you make a booking through the Platform, you enter into a contract directly with the hotel. Hookoom acts as an intermediary facilitating the transaction — we are not a party to the contract between you and the hotel.
4.2 Booking Confirmation
A booking is confirmed only upon receipt of a written confirmation from Hookoom via email. Until confirmation is received, a booking is not guaranteed.
4.3 Pricing
All prices displayed on the Platform are in Indian Rupees (INR) and include applicable taxes unless otherwise stated. Prices are subject to change until a booking is confirmed.
4.4 Payment
Payment is collected at the time of booking via our payment gateway partner (ICICI Bank). We accept credit cards, debit cards, UPI, net banking, and wallets. All transactions are secured and processed in accordance with applicable payment security standards.
05 Cancellations and Refunds
5.1 Cancellation by Guest
Cancellation terms vary by hotel and rate type and are displayed clearly before you confirm a booking. Please review the cancellation policy applicable to your specific booking before payment.
- Free cancellation: Full refund if cancelled before the specified deadline shown at booking.
- Non-refundable rates: No refund upon cancellation. These rates are explicitly marked at the time of booking.
- Partial refund rates: Refund amount and deadline shown at booking. Refund is calculated on the pre-tax base rate.
5.2 How to Cancel
To cancel a booking, log in to your Hookoom account, navigate to My Bookings, and select Cancel. Alternatively, email contact@hookoom.com with your booking reference.
5.3 Refund Processing
Approved refunds will be credited to the original payment method within 5–7 business days of cancellation confirmation. Processing times may vary depending on your bank or payment provider.
5.4 Cancellation by Hotel
In the rare event that a hotel cancels a confirmed booking, Hookoom will:
- Notify you immediately
- Provide a full refund of the amount paid
- Assist in finding an alternative property where possible
Hookoom is not liable for losses arising from hotel-initiated cancellations beyond the refund of the booking amount paid.
5.5 No-Show
If you do not check in on the arrival date without prior cancellation, the booking will be treated as a no-show. Refunds for no-shows are subject to the hotel's no-show policy as shown at the time of booking.
06 Guest Reviewer Programme
6.1 How It Works
Registered users who submit verified reviews and photos on the Platform ("Guest Reviewers") are eligible to earn 50% of Hookoom's net commission on any booking that is influenced by their review content, as determined by Hookoom's attribution system.
6.2 Eligibility
To earn reviewer commissions, you must:
- Have a verified Hookoom account
- Have stayed at the property being reviewed
- Submit original photos and/or a written review within 30 days of checkout
- Meet our content quality and authenticity standards (see Section 7)
6.3 Commission Attribution
A booking is attributed to a reviewer when a user views that reviewer's content and proceeds to book the same property within the attribution window. Attribution is determined solely by Hookoom's platform data and is final.
6.4 Earnings and Payouts
- Earnings are credited to your Hookoom wallet upon completion of the attributed stay.
- Payouts are processed to your registered bank account or UPI ID within 7 business days of a payout request.
- Minimum payout threshold: ₹500.
- Hookoom reserves the right to withhold earnings pending fraud review.
- Earnings are subject to applicable Indian tax deductions at source (TDS) as required by law. A TDS certificate will be issued annually.
6.5 Programme Changes
Hookoom reserves the right to modify the commission structure, attribution model, or eligibility criteria with 30 days' prior notice to registered reviewers.
07 Content Standards
7.1 Your Responsibilities
By submitting content (photos, videos, reviews, ratings) to the Platform, you confirm that:
- You are the original creator of the content or have the right to submit it
- The content is accurate and reflects your genuine experience
- The content was created during a stay at the property being reviewed
- The content does not violate any third party's rights
7.2 Prohibited Content
You must not submit content that:
- Is false, misleading, or fabricated
- Was taken by another person without their consent
- Contains personal information of individuals without their consent
- Is defamatory, offensive, obscene, or discriminatory
- Infringes any copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property right
- Contains commercial promotions or spam
- Was incentivised by the hotel or any third party (other than Hookoom's reviewer programme)
7.3 Content Moderation
Hookoom reserves the right to remove any content that violates these standards without notice. Repeated violations may result in account suspension and forfeiture of pending earnings.
7.4 Licence
You grant Hookoom a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide licence to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your submitted content on the Platform and in marketing materials. You retain ownership of your content.
08 Intellectual Property
All content on the Platform that is not user-submitted — including the Hookoom name, logo, brand assets, website design, software, and text — is owned by or licensed to Hookoom Private Limited and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our proprietary content without our prior written consent.
09 Platform Availability and Accuracy
We strive to keep the Platform operational and information accurate, but we do not guarantee:
- Uninterrupted or error-free access to the Platform
- That hotel availability, pricing, or descriptions are free from errors at all times
- That search results will meet your specific expectations
We are not responsible for technical failures beyond our reasonable control, including failures of third-party services, internet outages, or force majeure events.
10 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- Hookoom's total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Platform shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific booking giving rise to the claim.
- Hookoom is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, or loss of goodwill.
- Hookoom is not liable for the acts or omissions of hotel partners, including failure to provide the booked accommodation as described.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
11 Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hookoom, its directors, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, or damages (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your breach of these Terms
- Your use of the Platform
- Content you submit to the Platform
- Your violation of any third party's rights
12 Third-Party Links
The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services. These links are provided for your convenience only. Hookoom does not endorse, control, or take responsibility for the content, privacy practices, or terms of any third-party site.
13 Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India.
For consumer disputes, you may also approach the relevant Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

15 Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. For material changes, we will notify registered users via email or in-app notice at least 7 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Platform after that date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
